The Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin
recently held the annual clergy retreat at St. Anthony’s Retreat Center in
Three Rivers CA. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno has been gracious and generous
in allowing us to use their facilities. The Franciscans originally owned the
facilities and more recently sold the large campus and land to the Archdiocese
of Fresno.
During our stay I had an
opportunity to explore the grounds which also have a view east to Sequoia Park.
One of the features in addition to statuary of St. Francis, St. Anthony and St.
Mary are the fourteen stations of the cross. I used my Sony RX1R2 camera for
photographs in the early morning as I walked the campus. I believe these statues
help create a sacred and contemplative atmosphere.
