I was watching a YouTube advertisement for the Black Rifle Coffee Company which is owned and run by military veterans.
There was a seven-minute video about a Special Forces veteran named Tom Spooner who also co-founded “Warrior’s Heart”
Tom was "living the dream" until an 82mm mortar shell exploded near him, killing and mortally wounding some of his comrades. He didn’t know it at the time but he had suffered TBI from the concussion.
When he was discharged from the military, he had a difficult time adjusting to civilian life. He even needed to put his address into his GPS to get from his job to his home. He considered suicide.
He had a veteran buddy who told him to get help and in so doing, he discovered that he had extensive TBI. He is another example of God’s redeeming grace.
I wanted you folks to watch Tom’s story and be inspired by it. I have watched it at least five times and am re-inspired each time. Thanks for your service Tom. I have included the YouTube link.
